HOW IT WORKS
Riders taking up the challenge need to cycle 144 miles (the distance of the original route) between Saturday 4th July – Friday 31st July 2020. The rest is up to you! You can split the distance however and wherever you want to. You can ride on your local roads, or even complete it on an exercise bike from home.

What is The Yorkshire Wolds Cycle Challenge?
The Yorkshire Wolds Cycle Challenge is an annual fundraising bike ride in aid of Ryedale Special Families. Traditionally, the event has been a challenging two-day ride covering 144 miles, following a spectacular circular route on quiet roads around the stunning Yorkshire Wolds. The next physical event will be held in 2021.
Additional information about The Yorkshire Wolds Cycle Challenge can be found at here.
What is the Virtual 2020?
It is a ‘virtual’ version of the event – a 144 mile cycle challenge. Entrants need to cover the 144 mile distance riding on their local roads or exercise bike, tracking and sharing their progress, and raising money for the independent charity, Ryedale Special Families.
Unfortunately, the Coronavirus pandemic forced the cancellation of the 2020 Yorkshire Wolds Cycle Challenge. Rather than cancel entirely, we decided to launch the virtual challenge as a fun alternative – to help raise money for Ryedale Special Families.
