I'm supporting children and young people with disabilities in North Yorkshire
Ryedale Special Families is an independent charity based in Malton. Founded in the 1990s by a small group of parents with disabled children, it’s grown significantly over the past 25 years, and today, provides care and support for more than 400 families throughout the Ryedale district of North Yorkshire.
Providing a wide range of services including information, advocacy, flexible one-to-one care, social groups and family activities, it offers a vital support network to help families and young people with all kinds of disabilities. The charity depends heavily on fundraising to finance the work it does, and the Yorkshire Wolds Cycle Challenge is an important part of this picture. The loss of income from the cancellation of this year's Yorkshire Wolds Cycle Challenge is a devastating blow to the charity and the families it supports and money raised from this Virtual 2020 event will make a huge difference to them.
Feeling heartbrokenThursday 23rd Jul So some of you may know that I’ve been trying to complete 144miles on my bike in July to raise money for charity. Unfortunately, my dream may not become a reality as at 1314hrs this afternoon my bike was stolen from work. Someone has come onto hospital grounds - knowing it was likely to belong to a member of staff and taken what isn’t rightfully theirs. I’m absolutely devastated. Share
Another year on!!Thursday 25th Jun Last year I completed this mammoth task. I swore I’d never do it again but when the choice of completing over a month came up how could I say no.
