We're supporting children and young people with disabilities in North Yorkshire
Thank you for reading this as I am sure you are receiving multiple requests in the current times. With no live charity events taking place, it is more important than ever that we do our bit. So we are (cumulatively) as a family cycling 144 miles between now and the end of July in replication of the "live" event which would otherwise have taken place.
Ryedale Special Families is an independent charity based in Malton. Founded in the 1990s by a small group of parents with disabled children, it’s grown significantly over the past 25 years, and today, provides care and support for more than 400 families throughout the Ryedale district of North Yorkshire. Providing a wide range of services including information, advocacy, flexible one-to-one care, social groups and family activities, it offers a vital support network to help families and young people with all kinds of disabilities.
The charity depends heavily on fundraising to finance the work it does, and the Yorkshire Wolds Cycle Challenge is an important part of this picture. The loss of income from the cancellation of this year's Yorkshire Wolds Cycle Challenge is a devastating blow to the charity and the families it supports and money raised from this Virtual 2020 event will make a huge difference to them.
